Before You Begin

Please include:

  • You are between 18 and 24
  • You are able to provide business financial statements showing sales of at least $20,000
  • Proof of Canadian Citizenship or permanent residency in Canada
  • You are enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program (college, university, trade school, or technical institute).
  • You own and operate an active Canadian business.

Privacy and Consent

By applying, each applicant consents to Thomas Foundation collecting, reviewing, using, retaining, and verifying the personal, educational, business, and financial information provided for the purposes of:

  • Administering the scholarship program.
  • Determining eligibility.
  • Evaluating and comparing applicants.
  • Verifying application information.
  • Selecting and communicating with a recipient.
  • Administering and publicizing the scholarship.

Information may be shared with Thomas Foundation directors, officers, employees, professional advisers, selection committee members, and other individuals who reasonably require access for these purposes, or as otherwise required or permitted by law.

The successful applicant may be asked to sign a separate consent authorizing the reasonable use of the applicant’s name, photograph, business description, and scholarship story for promotional, educational, and charitable purposes.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Thomas Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, advisers, representatives, and selection committee members will not be responsible or liable for any expense, loss, damage, claim, or liability arising from or relating to:

  • Preparing or submitting an application.
  • The loss, delay, or non-receipt of an application.
  • Reliance on the existence or availability of the scholarship.
  • The acceptance or rejection of an application.
  • The selection or non-selection of an applicant.
  • The withdrawal of a scholarship offer.
  • Any change, postponement, suspension, withdrawal, or cancellation of the scholarship program.
  • The recipient’s use of the scholarship funds.
  • Any tax consequences arising from receipt of the scholarship.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
